Crookham Court Derelict Manor House

Crookham Court Manor

Crookham Court is a beautiful manor in Thatcham, West Berkshire, which stands on what was originally the site of Crookham Manor, which was demolished around the 1850’s.

Crookham Court was built as a manor house, but in 1961 became a junior boarding School, serving the people at Greenham Common Army Grounds. This old boarding school has a dark history of child abuse from young boys and in 1988 3 of the teaching staff were sentenced to 26 years in prison for the long term sexual abuse of pupils.

This was well documented in the BBC’s ‘Thats Life’, which will shed more light on the atrocities and the history of the building it’s self.
